Hello! Last Saturday was KWAVE, a Korean festival event that featured many dance crew and their kpop covers as well as a meet and greet for lucky fans of Simon&Martina from EatYourKimchi.
We came reletively early which gave us time to look around. Being a festival junkie I thought there would be lots more stalls of clothing and food but there were only roughly 6 stalls? Most of which were selling Korean food, which I couldn't try because of how long the line was.
After coming back from eating lunch at ChinaBar, we came JUST in time for some performances which included DarrenTP and his crew, the anticipated performance my friend wanted to see. Some performances were really great in my opinion, being a dancer myself my friends and I had a big urge to just jump on stage and perform, but we couldn't lol T____T

After watching DarrenTP's performance, it started to rain, so we tried to somewhat get under shade and to our luck, we saw Darren and -SORRY I FORGOT YOUR NAME- another dancer walking towards Federation Square. We yelled at his name from a far and he heard us and waved :)
Few minutes later he walked back to the festival and called him and asked if we could get a photo. He was really nice, and somewhat managed to touch all out shoulders when taking the photo haha. My friend was stoked because she took a selca with him, she's practically his biggest fan.
When it stopped raining, we went back to the stage and watched other performances. My friend ran up to us after roaming around and said she saw Martina just casually at the stairs. We ran and saw her with other fans. When we were just about to talk to her, she walked the opposite direction, around and away from the festival. Crazy as I was, I told my friends we should just go follow her, which we did haha. She finally stopped to sit and she noticed us looking at her so she told us to be quiet and then tod us to come sit next to her. She explained she's undercover, pretending to be a volunteer for the event and also told us about her plan to trick everyone else. We asked her other general questions and she's so down to earth, it felt like we were talking to a long lost friend, rather than someone so big to the kpop world on Youtube. I asked if we can take a photo with her and she happily said yes twice :)

When she had to leave, we went back to the festival and fangirled like crazy. We were so fortunate to have met the people we wanted to meet in less than an hour, it was surreal and so crazy to us. As you can probably read already, the stage/performances was the highlight of the day, so once again we watched a few more performances. To our surprise, we saw Naomi, whom we met while waiting in line before the CNBlue concert performing with her crew/dance ensemble. They did an amazing job, one of the best that performed :)

So to end it, KWAVE was really good this year. The lineup was a surprise and in the kpop community especially, I think it was really pleasant to see Simon + Martina come to Australia, as well as local dancers and singers passionate about the music.
